Jake's Reindeer Race
Jake’s Reindeer Race is not a competition. It’s a celebration. It’s a commitment.

4th Annual Jake's Reindeer Race - Sunday, December 7th, 2008
Jake's Reindeer Race thanks the following generous sponsors of the 2008 Event:
The 4th Annual Jake's Reindeer Race was held on Sunday, December 7, 2008 at Innsbrook Corporate Park. IT WAS COLD!! We really applaud and appreciate all the folks who braved the day! We had 651 people sign up to run or walk. The cold seemed to keep some people away, but we still had a good crowd and a great time. As always, the spirit of hope and caring prevailed. Children were smiling, friends were laughing together, and a broad determination to make a difference in the lives of kids with cancer was seen throughout the day!
The organizers of Jake's Reindeer Race extend their heartfelt thanks to all race participants, donors, volunteers, corporate sponsors and supporters! 2008 proved to be another terrific year! As times have become increasingly difficult for so many people, we were truly touched to see such generosity and kindness continue through this year's race. Before the close of this year, nearly $60,000 had been donated to help kids with cancer! Donations are still arriving on a consistent basis. Our thanks go beyond words! These proceeds will be used to sponsor research at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, neuroblastoma research at VCU Children's Medical Center/Massey Cancer Center, and to provide coping and resource literature to patients and their families suffering throughout the Richmond area.
Photos from the race can be viewed and purchased through www.hayesandfisk.com.
Our special thanks to the West Richmond Rotary Club; the Godwin High School Robotics Team; the Collegiate School; Trinity Episcopal School; Benedictine High School; River Road Presbyterian Church; Chris Mooney, head basketball coach at University of Richmond; Jonathan Austin; and the many other groups and organizations that pulled together to make this year's event possible! We couldn't do it without you!
